Roblox has announced the rollout of a streamlined publishing process and an "Invite Early Testers" feature for its developer community. These updates, previously previewed at the Roblox Developers Conference, aim to simplify the workflow and encourage the creation of more new titles on the platform.
The new publishing flow guides creators through the necessary steps to go live. For games that do not contain age-restricted content, the previous compliance questionnaire, which could reach up to 30 questions, has been reduced to a single confirmation question. This change allows for immediate publishing for players aged 16 and older in most regions.
The new "Invite Early Testers" feature allows creators to invite up to 10 people to play their games before a public release. This tool is available to creators aged 9 and older who have verified their age. Owners can invite friends for personal games or group members for group-owned projects, provided the testers are in a similar age group.
Safety remains a priority during these tests, as standard reporting and safety measures apply. Additionally, parents of users under 16 retain the ability to restrict their children from participating as testers. These features will be integrated into the Creator Hub and Studio over the coming weeks.
