Developer Zakuzaku has announced that a demo for its upcoming mystery game, RD no Enkaku Suiri, will be released on Steam in November. The title is fully supervised by Abiko Takemaru, known for his work on Kamaitachi no Yoru and Satsuriku ni Itaru Yamai. While the Steam demo is confirmed for November, information regarding release timing for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 versions will be provided at a later date.
The game centers on the protagonist, Nozomi, who begins investigating a murder case after losing contact with her sister, who attends the same university as the victim, Minato Seiji. Players utilize an in-game search engine called Glome and a social media platform named Z to gather information within a time limit. The gameplay incorporates armchair detective mechanics, requiring players to solve the mystery using only online resources rather than visiting crime scenes.
To enhance realism, the game features web content and social media posts inspired by real locations and programs in Nagano Prefecture. The upcoming demo will include character voices from a professional cast, a feature that was previously unimplemented. Attendees of the Zenkoku Entame Matsuri, held on October 17 and 18 in Gifu Prefecture, will have the opportunity to play this version of the demo ahead of its public release.
