Monster Flight Club offers the Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2-player starter set for the Combat Zone game. This set includes 24 full-color acrylic StandUpz, though the company also provides separate miniature packs for players.
The reviewer highlights that StandUpz allow for immediate gameplay, avoiding the time-consuming preparation often associated with miniatures. While the Combat Zone miniatures are single-piece casts requiring only base attachment, they still necessitate painting. The reviewer notes that the acrylic standees feature crisp, saturated, double-sided imagery that looks impressive on the table.
The reviewer assesses that while standees are excellent for onboarding, they lack the immersive quality of miniatures, which provide a more authentic wargaming experience. A significant limitation noted is that Monster Flight Club does not currently offer standee options for expansion gangs, forcing players to choose between purchasing miniatures or halting game expansion.
Regarding scale, the reviewer observes that standees and miniatures are compatible, with standees appearing only slightly shorter due to thinner bases. Ultimately, the choice between the two formats remains a personal preference for players.
