Santa Monica Studio has unveiled the collector's edition for God of War Laufey, which notably excludes the game itself. Similar to the controversial 400 euro GTA 6 edition, this package requires players to purchase the title separately, as confirmed by fine print on the official product image.
The physical collection features a 20-centimeter statue of Faye, Phranque, and Rue battling Begtse soldiers, which includes USB-powered lighting. Additionally, the set contains a 51-card oracle deck with custom illustrations and a physical mini art book showcasing concept art for characters, creatures, and environments.
Priced at 149,99 euros, the total investment exceeds 200 euros when adding the standard game at 79,99 euros or the Deluxe edition, which adds digital skins, a soundtrack, and a digital art book for an extra 10 euros.
This trend of omitting the game from premium editions raises concerns regarding additional costs for consumers. The game is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, for the PS5 platform.
