Blizzard is preparing to launch World of Warcraft: Forever on November 4. This release represents the third major version of the long-running MMORPG, drawing upon 22 years of development history and insights gained from previous iterations, including the original game and the 2019 Classic re-release.
According to associate production director Clay Stone and executive producer Holly Longdale, the development team aims to exceed community expectations. Rather than simply replicating historical content, the studio intends to forge a new vision for the title that remains rooted in the original game's world.
The project moves beyond minor adjustments like class balancing or finishing previously incomplete quests. Instead, the developers have implemented over 1,000 new quests to provide a more substantial experience than many players anticipated.
This initiative reflects a shift in Blizzard's strategy, moving from the "no changes" philosophy of earlier Classic releases toward a more proactive approach. The studio is now focused on delivering new content while maintaining the core identity of the genre-defining MMO.
