XBOX Game Studios and developer The Coalition have officially released Gears of War: E-Day. This action-packed third-person shooter serves as a prequel, set 14 years before the events of the original series entry.
The narrative focuses on the Emergence Day tragedy, where the Locust forces emerged from underground to devastate the planet Sera, killing 25 percent of the human population. The game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to deliver high-fidelity, intense combat sequences.
Players can experience the campaign solo, via two-player split-screen, or through four-player online cooperative play. Additional content includes the 12-player Horde Siege PvE mode and a 4v4 Versus PvP mode.
To celebrate the launch, 4Gamer is hosting a giveaway for a custom XBOX Wireless Controller designed by illustrator Luke Preece, featuring chainsaw lancer and skull motifs. Entries are open until October 20, requiring social media engagement with the official accounts.
