Ubisoft is implementing further workforce reductions as part of a broader financial strategy. Recent reports indicate the company plans to close its RedLynx studio and significantly reduce the staff at its Singapore location.
According to VGC, these measures will result in approximately 122 job losses. Specifically, 52 employees at RedLynx will be affected by the studio's closure, while Ubisoft Singapore will lose 70 workers despite their work on the well-received Assassin's Creed: Black Flag - Resynced.
These cuts follow previous layoffs at the Barcelona studio, which saw 51 employees depart in July. The ongoing reductions persist despite the commercial success of the Assassin's Creed remaster, which achieved over three million sales within its first week.
Ubisoft aims to reduce annual expenditures by 200 million dollars by March 2028. Consequently, the company expects intermittent layoffs to continue, creating a climate of job insecurity regardless of individual project performance.
