Yuji Horii, known for his work on the Dragon Quest series and The Portopia Serial Murder Case, released a new mystery game titled Torishiritsushitsu no Komiya on October 11. The title is available to the public for free.

In this game, players conduct an interrogation of a 72-year-old former locksmith named Komiya, who is a suspect in a pawn shop safe robbery. The objective is to identify inconsistencies between the suspect's statements and the evidence to expose lies.

The interrogation mechanics involve managing Komiya's agitation and resistance levels. Asking questions or successfully calling out lies affects these stats. If the resistance reaches 100, the suspect will remain silent, requiring players to balance their approach to uncover the truth.

Horii noted on X that he created the game in approximately 30 minutes using generative AI. He expressed surprise at the technology, noting that he could produce a functional game without needing to draw art or write code himself, contrasting this with his solo development experience on Portopia.
