Japanese independent developer Nulpoyo has released a free demo for their upcoming party action game, Crazy City Golf. The title is scheduled to launch on the Steam platform on October 25.
The game supports 1 to 8 players in an online environment where the entire city serves as a golf course. Participants must navigate streets, alleys, or rooftops to reach the hole, with the game featuring procedurally generated urban layouts that include landmarks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa and pyramids.
Gameplay mechanics involve over 20 items that can be used strategically or to disrupt opponents. Players must contend with dynamic hazards such as moving vehicles and explosive oil barrels, while unconventional statistics like out-of-bounds counts can influence final scores and potentially trigger dramatic ranking reversals.
Nulpoyo consists of two colleagues who develop the game outside of their primary professional responsibilities. The team noted that their development sessions often extend through the night, humorously remarking that their virtual golf matches conclude just as professional golfers begin their morning rounds.
