Independent developer Himeko released the PC psychological horror novel Kyofu Yawa: Daini-ya on Steam on October 14, 2026. The title is priced at 500 yen, though a launch promotion offers a 20 percent discount, bringing the cost to 400 yen until October 29.
The narrative follows a freelance writer for a third-rate occult magazine who meets three individuals in an old coffee shop on a rainy night in the 1990s. Players read through three distinct ghost stories: a youth terrified by sounds under his floorboards, a soccer coach encountering something in an old school building, and a woman who witnessed something forbidden in an abandoned hotel.
This sequel offers more than double the volume of the original game, though it can be enjoyed independently. The experience features four possible endings and an estimated playtime of two to two and a half hours.
The developer expressed both personal anxiety and excitement regarding the release of this solo project. While the three stories are intended to fill the magazine, the narrative suggests the取材 night does not conclude simply after hearing all three accounts.
