Players select a partner Pokémon card and receive a secret role card. Gameplay revolves around using unique Pokémon abilities and shared deck cards to attack or support others. Key mechanics include 'Attack!' and 'Avoid!' cards, which dictate combat, alongside 'Item,' 'Tool,' and 'Event' cards that alter battle conditions. The game also incorporates 'Weather' attributes on cards, adding a layer of strategic randomness.
