Oxalis Games has officially released its narrative-driven life simulation RPG, Moonfrost, into Steam Early Access. Developed by a collective of independent creators, the title blends cozy life simulation with intricate building mechanics. Players assume the role of a Frost Hunter tasked with restoring a ruined village and uncovering the mysteries surrounding a second moon that appeared 100 years ago.

Gameplay centers on rebuilding efforts through activities such as farming, fishing, foraging, and crafting. As players restore homes and shops, new residents return to the village, each featuring unique personalities and evolving story arcs. These interactions are influenced by player choices, which directly impact community cohesion and development.

Beyond the village, players can explore ancient temples filled with dangerous enemies, traps, and rare resources. These expeditions provide essential clues regarding the celestial event that devastated the world. Gina Nelson of Oxalis Games expressed excitement about sharing this vision, which focuses on themes of community, healing, and collective restoration.

The Early Access version includes features such as village customization, dynamic relationship systems, and a next-generation pixel art style. While the game is currently available on Steam, the studio is also preparing to showcase another project, Tiny Dwellings, during the upcoming autumn Steam Next Fest.
