Counter-Strike 2Official updates
Counter-Strike 2 · Demo viewer and Vulkan update · 2026-10-14
Improves demo downloads, camera controls and seeking, adjusts AUG reload animations, and addresses Vulkan stability. Server round-backup files now require an explicit startup flag.
Installation
- Close Counter-Strike 2 and allow Steam to install the public-branch update.
- Restart Steam if the update is not offered, then verify that the client and any dedicated server use compatible builds.
- For servers using round backups, review the -allow_round_backup_files startup requirement in the announcement.
Removal · recovery
- Use Steam’s file-integrity verification if installation is damaged.
- Restore backed-up server settings when needed; file verification does not roll the game back to an older build.
