Key information
NIS America and Nihon Falcom have officially announced that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is heading to the Switch 2. The title is scheduled for a worldwide release outside of Japan on February 25, 2027.
This new version introduces significant technical enhancements over the original 2018 Switch release. Players can expect an improved frame rate reaching up to 120fps, a substantial increase from the previous 30fps limit. Additionally, the port adds local and online GameShare support for cooperative multiplayer and introduces Spanish subtitle localization.
Beyond the console release, Falcom confirmed that the game is also arriving on Android and Apple iOS devices. This mobile iteration is being managed by Linekong Entertainment Technology for a global launch.
While the Switch 2 version marks a new platform debut, the game remains accessible on various existing systems, including the original Switch, PS4, PS5, Vita, and PC.
