Microsoft's gaming division is reportedly preparing for three additional rounds of staff reductions as part of a broader strategy to reset business operations. According to sources familiar with the plans, these cuts are scheduled for this month, November, and January 2027.

These upcoming actions follow a significant reduction in September that eliminated 268 roles and involved organizational restructuring. These efforts represent the second major wave of cost-cutting measures, following an initial July reduction that impacted over 1,600 employees.

While specific teams targeted by these new measures remain undisclosed, employees at The Coalition have expressed concerns regarding potential staff reductions following the release of Gears of War: E-Day. Staff members worry that timing these cuts could affect the distribution of promised bonuses.

The reported plans remain subject to change. Additionally, internal estimates suggest that upcoming Helix consoles could carry a price point ranging from $1,200 to $1,800.
