Independent developer CHAyE has unveiled a fresh trailer for the upcoming RPG Hansel and Gretel in the Dark Forest. Alongside the video, the project received updated key visuals and a refreshed Steam store page to better highlight its dark fairy tale aesthetic and mystery-solving gameplay.
The game centers on siblings abandoned in a forest who stumble upon a mysterious candy house. Players must utilize sweets as essential tools to unravel puzzles. The latest promotional footage showcases new characters, updated CG sequences, and the core dessert-based mechanics.
Hansel and Gretel in the Dark Forest will be featured at the G-Eight game exhibition from December 4 to 6. Attendees can access an exclusive demo at the booth, as there is currently no public demo available on Steam. The developer is also hosting a closed beta for Traditional Chinese and English speakers to gather feedback for optimization.
The game now supports Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, and Latin American Spanish. The latter was added following proactive assistance from international fans. Participants in the current closed beta are prohibited from streaming or recording content, though they are encouraged to share written impressions.
