Square Enix has officially published a security advisory regarding unauthorized account access on the Dragon Quest X website. This follows previous warnings issued on The Lodestone for Final Fantasy XIV, confirming that the issue affects both titles.

The company reports that attackers are utilizing email addresses, account IDs, and passwords leaked from third-party services to gain unauthorized entry into Square Enix accounts. Users who recycle login credentials across multiple platforms face a significantly higher risk of compromise.

Beyond credential stuffing, the publisher warns that using easily guessable passwords, such as birth dates or repetitive character sequences, increases vulnerability. Affected users are urged to change their passwords immediately to mitigate these security risks.

To combat these threats, Square Enix is restricting access to suspected compromised accounts and recommends implementing one-time passwords to enhance security. If unauthorized access continues to rise, the company may mandate a global password reset for all accounts.
