Taiwan Koei Tecmo and Laya Burger have announced a collaboration titled "Laya Musou" for "Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered." Starting October 22, over 500 Laya Burger locations across Taiwan will feature themed menu items and exclusive merchandise, celebrating the 25-year history of the series.
The collaboration introduces four limited-edition food items: the "Lu Bu Unrivaled Spicy Burger," "Musou Grilled Chicken Burger," "Musou Meat Bun," and "Battle of Red Cliffs Platter." The meat buns are uniquely branded with ten classic in-game quotes. Additionally, the Laya Now app features a "True Musou" combat power test, allowing users to synthesize their faces onto historical character illustrations.
Producer Tomohiko Sho noted that the development team maintained strict quality control, even adjusting the length of Guan Yu’s beard and Lu Bu’s pheasant feathers on pet headgear to ensure character authenticity. While Koei Tecmo typically prohibits using their characters with other brands, the high design standards and passion shown by the Laya Burger team led to a rare exception for this project.
The campaign runs until January 4, 2027. Customers can collect 43 different character cards, including a rare Lu Bu holographic card, with qualifying purchases. Additional merchandise, such as weapon-themed cat teasers and pet headgear, will be released in two waves starting October 22 and November 12.
