Key information
A new LEGO PlayStation set has been released, offering a near 1:1 scale model of Sony's original hardware. The set consists of 1,911 pieces and measures over 2.5 inches high, 10.5 inches wide, and 7.5 inches deep.
The construction process takes approximately six hours and involves building internal components, including a colorful representation of the PlayStation logo and various electronic chips. The model features functional Power and Open buttons, with the latter utilizing a spring-loaded mechanism to lift the disc lid.
The reviewer notes that the finished model bears a striking resemblance to the original console. While key logos and button icons are pre-printed, the set includes stickers for internal dioramas depicting Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. The reviewer expressed disappointment that these dioramas did not feature other titles like Metal Gear Solid. Additionally, the reviewer reported that the Open button occasionally sticks and described the included controller as looking somewhat janky.
The LEGO PlayStation set is currently available for purchase at the LEGO Store and PlayStation Direct for $179.99.
