The developers of the anime horse racing franchise Umamusume: Pretty Derby have officially cancelled their upcoming concert in Los Angeles. The event, originally scheduled for 22nd and 23rd October, was called off after the team failed to secure the necessary visas for entry into the United States.
According to the official announcement, the organizers coordinated with all relevant parties and explored every possible option to proceed with the show. Ultimately, they reached the painful conclusion that holding the concerts was no longer feasible, leading to a last-minute cancellation.
The production team issued a sincere apology to the fans, known as Trainers, for the inconvenience and the late timing of the announcement. While all tickets are being refunded, the developers noted they are currently exploring additional options to help alleviate the frustration felt by those who had planned to attend in person.
The cancellation has sparked significant disappointment among the community, with some fans expressing frustration over the immigration hurdles involved. This incident raises questions regarding whether Cygames will attempt to organize future events in the US, especially as other industry figures have recently voiced concerns about travel and immigration policies for upcoming events.
