Key information

The Esports Foundation has unveiled two new qualification pathways for the Esports World Cup 2027, aiming to engage 1.8 million players across over 400 events next year. These additions, known as EWC Direct Qualifiers and Satellite Last Chance Qualifiers, integrate external competitions into the global tournament structure.

EWC Direct Qualifiers allow existing tournament organizers to maintain their event branding and commercial autonomy while providing an official route to the main stage. Conversely, Satellite Last Chance Qualifiers are accessible to a broader range of entities, including universities, gaming festivals, and national federations, offering marketing support from the Foundation.

Winners from Satellite events secure a spot in the game-specific Last Chance Qualifier held the following summer. To support these participants, the Foundation provides visa and accommodation assistance. All events must adhere to strict competitive standards, including anti-cheat protocols, officiating requirements, and publisher-approved tournament rules.

The initial lineup features titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Chess, Street Fighter 6, and FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves. Interested organizers must submit applications via the official website by December 20, 2026, with all approved competitions required to conclude by June 1, 2027.
