The official White House account on X has utilized the visual style of Grand Theft Auto VI for a new piece of political propaganda. This move continues a pattern where the administration has appropriated imagery from popular gaming franchises, including Halo, Tetris, Pokémon, and Zelda, without obtaining consent from the original creators.
The propaganda image features Donald Trump in the foreground, accompanied by a helicopter and a flying car. The vehicle depicted is the new Tesla Roadster with thrusters, recently unveiled by Elon Musk, which is currently scheduled for production in 2028. The graphic employs the iconic GTA font style to display the slogan "Make America Great Again."
Accompanying the visual is the caption, "We really got flying cars before GTA 6." This message references a popular internet meme format that has circulated on social media platforms in recent days, which the administration has now integrated into its political messaging.
Grand Theft Auto VI is developed by Rockstar Games and is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. The title will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing players to the open-world setting of Vice City. Rockstar has not yet announced a version for PC.
