Actor Rahul Kohli has shared a pitch for a potential L.A. Noire spinoff that would explore various historical eras. Speaking to BAFTA Games, Kohli suggested a format where players assume the role of a police officer investigating crimes across different time periods.
The proposed concepts include a Victorian England setting centered on the Jack the Ripper case, as well as a pursuit of the Night Stalker in California during the '80s. Kohli expressed enthusiasm for this anthology-style approach to the franchise.
Kohli emphasized his appreciation for the original game's facial-capture system, which allowed players to analyze granular expressions. He specifically requested that any future entry retain the original engine and technology, noting that these elements contributed to the charm of the 2011 release.
While developer Team Bondi disbanded, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently stated the company is evaluating future projects across all its franchises, including L.A. Noire. Rockstar previously noted in 2012 that a sequel remained a possibility, though bandwidth and timing have historically influenced development decisions.
