The Saros: Zenith update is available to all owners of the game starting October 19 at no additional charge. Developed by Housemarque, this update aims to increase replayability for existing players while improving accessibility for newcomers to the action title.
New accessibility options include a game-speed setting that allows players to slow down combat to better react to enemy telegraphs without reducing projectile counts. Additionally, an auto-fire feature simplifies weapon usage, though manual input is still required for perfect reloads. These settings complement existing button remapping and new Motion Sensor Aiming functionality.
The update expands the Carcosan Modifier system with 10 new Protection Modifiers and 10 Trial Modifiers. These allow players to customize difficulty, such as the Corruption Melee Enhancement, which turns corruption into a damage source. Furthermore, the new Eclipse Layers mode offers a challenging New Game+ experience where players must select specific modifier loadouts to progress and unlock story-focused Visions.
Finally, the Overlord Rush mode provides a training simulation for battling bosses, featuring global leaderboards filtered by weapon choice. Players can tackle different sets, including the Totality gauntlet featuring all eight Overlords. Accessing these online features requires an internet connection and a PlayStation account.
