The Los Angeles performance of The Stage: World Tour for the popular gacha game Umamusume: Pretty Derby has been cancelled. Originally scheduled to take place at the Peacock Theater this week, the event was called off due to difficulties with the United States visa system.
Developer Cygames announced the cancellation after failing to secure the required entry visas. Despite coordinating with legal counsel and promoters for over six months, the team could not obtain the necessary documentation to proceed with the concert as planned.
This incident follows similar visa-related challenges for other game-related events in California, including a missed performance by Tarokiki for the Wuthering Waves tour. These recurring issues highlight broader concerns regarding the impact of current political climates on international event participation.
The cancellation has elicited strong reactions from the game's fanbase, with some expressing significant frustration over the loss of the live performance. While the event was intended to showcase the game's soundtrack and voice talent, the inability to secure entry has left many supporters disappointed.
