Key information
Takara Tomy has officially announced the return of its The History Collection: PlayStation gachapon series. These miniature console replicas, which originally debuted in Japan in February 2026, are scheduled to reappear in Japanese capsule machines on October 26, 2026, priced at 500 yen per attempt.
The upcoming collection remains identical to the initial release, featuring miniature versions of the PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5. Each set includes a console, a corresponding controller, and a tiny game disc. For instance, the PS1 replica comes with a memory card and Arc the Lad, while the PS5 includes a Dualsense controller and Astro Bot.
The replicas offer specific interactive features for certain models. The PS1 design includes a functional lid that lifts, while the PS2 model features a disc tray that pops out. These mechanical elements allow for a more authentic representation of the hardware within the small-scale format.
Availability for this rerelease is currently limited to Japan, as the original run did not appear in US capsule machines. It remains uncertain if these toys will reach international markets, meaning collectors outside of Japan may need to rely on secondary platforms like eBay or specialized online retailers to acquire them.
