Nexon and Embark Studios have officially launched Season 12: PRIME TIME for the team shooter THE FINALS. This update, which went live on October 20, 2026, introduces significant gameplay additions, including the game's first-ever solo competitive mode.
The new Solo Showdown mode features a tournament-style format where 12 players compete individually. Over three rounds, participants with the lowest cash totals are eliminated, with the final winner determined by the highest cash balance at the end of the third round. Each round utilizes varying rules to test individual player skill.
Light builds receive new tactical options, including the True Sight specialization, which highlights enemies and objects, and two new gadgets: the Mimic Device for object camouflage and the Translocator for teleportation. Additionally, the destruction system has been upgraded to Dynamism 2.0, allowing for more realistic structural collapses, including tilting floors and twisting debris. Three existing arenas—Monaco, Seoul, and Skyway Stadium—have been remastered with new visual themes and landmarks.
Further updates include a revamped sponsorship system featuring new missions and handler partners, alongside the experimental implementation of Dynamic Commentary. This feature allows the commentator Scotty to react to player actions in real-time and address players by name during matches.
