The board game adaptation Clash Royale: The Grand Arena has successfully launched on Kickstarter. The project exceeded its initial $25K funding target in under one hour.
Designed for two to four participants, the game features eight-card decks centered on a chosen Champion. Players manage elixir resources to execute moves and destroy opponent towers, with the winner determined by the total number of crowns earned.
Lead designer David Gordon noted that the team tested various mechanics, including real-time play and simultaneous reveals. They ultimately prioritized a turn-based card system focused on elixir spending to replicate the mobile experience while ensuring accessibility for those unfamiliar with the franchise.
This project marks another collaboration between Maestro Media and Supercell. Pledges for the game begin at $49, with higher tiers offering access to expansions. The crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to conclude in November.
