The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to receive its 1.1 update next week, introducing a variety of gameplay adjustments and new features. This patch follows the game's early September release, which earned a four-star rating from Eurogamer for its successful blend of familiar dark fantasy tropes with provocative, original ideas.

Key additions include a new Story mode featuring combat assist, while the previous Story difficulty is being rebranded as Forgiving. Players can also utilize the Draught of Mind Rebirth potion to reset their Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities, allowing for a complete character respec. Additionally, the update finally enables the ability to pet dogs and cats.

Technical and mechanical refinements are a major focus, with over 1,100 fixes included. The developers are implementing improved combat targeting, camera adjustments, and more responsive traversal for Shadowstep and Planeshift abilities. Furthermore, the patch updates FrameGen technology with dedicated settings and expands subtitle options.

The update also addresses regional content, removing censorship for blood and gore in the Japanese Steam version of the game. These changes align with the vision shared by game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, aiming to polish the experience following the title's initial launch.
