Japanese developer Yokozuna Games Co., Ltd. announced on the 16th that it has shifted its release strategy for the tactical RPG Tactful Tactics. Instead of the previously planned autumn early access launch, the studio has released a free playable demo to gather player feedback and assess requirements.

The game features a synchronous turn-based system supporting 1 to 6 players. Unlike traditional turn-based titles, participants plan their moves simultaneously while viewing teammates' intended actions in real-time. Once planning concludes, all actions execute at once, allowing for both solo strategic depth and cooperative coordination.

The demo includes four sequential stages where players select from 6 character appearances and 5 distinct classes. While appearance is cosmetic, class choice dictates combat skills. Players can further customize their loadouts by equipping different weapons, such as swords, bows, or staves, which unlock specific skill sets. Successful completion of stages offers opportunities to acquire new gear and abilities.

Multiplayer sessions are managed via lobbies, which can be set to private for Steam friends or public to recruit other players. The developer emphasizes that the core appeal lies in predicting teammate behavior and coordinating positions to achieve synergy, even without direct verbal communication.
