The Swedish game developer Liquid Swords has officially filed for bankruptcy. Founder Christofer Sundberg is currently seeking a buyer for the studio, which is known for its recent action title, Samson.

Reports indicate that the studio faced significant financial strain, with employees reportedly going without pay for several months. Consequently, the Swedish state is expected to provide compensation to the approximately 30 staff members through a wage guarantee system.

The studio's debut project, the open-world action game Samson, launched on Steam and the Epic Games Store in April, followed by console versions in September. The title received mixed reviews, with critics highlighting technical bugs as a primary concern. Founder Christofer Sundberg previously acknowledged that the game was released with flaws, citing various reasons for the state of the launch.

Following the bankruptcy filing, the future of both the studio and the Samson title remains uncertain. While management hopes to secure a buyer to continue operations, there are currently no confirmed sales or guarantees regarding future support for the game.
