Stupid Never Dies, the debut action RPG from GPTRACK50, is a deeply flawed title that Polygon describes as the worst game of 2026. Despite its colorful visuals and stylistic flair, the game is marred by a regressive, uncomfortable narrative and unresponsive combat mechanics that waste its potential RPG depth.
The game features a controversial premise involving a zombie protagonist named Davy who seeks to revive a frozen human woman. Polygon criticizes this story as a literal example of the "fridging" trope, noting that the narrative is dehumanizing and uncomfortable, as players must offer gifts to a corpse to progress.
Mechanically, the game utilizes a repetitive roguelike structure where players navigate dungeons to gather resources. Combat is described as sluggish and imprecise, with slow attack animations and a lack of lock-on functionality. While the game includes a monster-chomping system for transformation, these forms suffer from the same slow, unresponsive feel as the base character.
Stupid Never Dies launches October 21 on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Polygon reviewed the title on PS5 Pro, concluding that its structural flaws and tone-deaf narrative make it a foundationally irredeemable experience that feels exhausting after only five hours of play.
