Steins;Gate Re:Boot is launching worldwide on PC via Steam. While console versions for PS5, Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series are scheduled for release on October 29 in the West, the PC version is currently available for players to experience.
The PC port features native controller support and removes the external launcher required by previous iterations. However, the current build is capped at 1080p resolution and lacks a proper 60fps limit, which can cause minor animation transition issues on displays with 90hz or 100hz refresh rates.
On the Steam Deck, the game initially suffered from a lack of voice audio. As of October 21, 2026, a solution has been identified requiring users to select Proton Experimental within the compatibility tool settings to restore character voices. Conversely, the game functions perfectly on the ROG Ally, though the author noted that touchscreen input for text progression is inconsistent compared to using physical face buttons.
Despite technical hurdles, the author considers this the best out-of-the-box PC experience among the four available versions of the title. It is described as a balanced middle ground between the original game's art style and the pacing found in Steins;Gate Elite.
