Independent developer Beast Studios has released a free demo for its upcoming open-world zombie survival title, Never Be Alone, as part of the Steam October Next Fest. The game is scheduled to enter early access on December 8.
The game features a cooperative multiplayer mode that the developers claim has no hard cap on player count, noting that the limit is instead determined by the host's PC hardware performance.
Set ten years after a zombie outbreak, players control an amnesiac survivor exploring three distinct islands. Gameplay involves dynamic missions influenced by player choices, weather, and seasonal changes, alongside survival mechanics like farming, fishing, and base construction using solar panels or generators.
Combat pits players against 11 types of infected, such as fast runners and nocturnal predators, as well as hostile human factions like bandits and the military. Players must manage weapon maintenance and attachments, while being cautious as gunfire can attract unwanted attention.
Never Be Alone supports Traditional Chinese and is currently available for players to try via its Steam demo, with the option to add the title to their wishlists.
