Developer merao software has officially launched the Steam store page for its upcoming 3D physics action game, titled HEAD FIRST, ROLL OUT! (Japanese title: 生首コロコロパイロット). The title is currently scheduled for a 2027 release on PC via Steam.
In this game, players control a small UFO tethered to a character called "Namakubi-chan." Because the character cannot be moved directly, players must use a "floor-depressing beam" to create slopes, allowing gravity to roll the head through a voxel world. Players must collect scattered body parts to escape while managing the limited length of the connecting cable.
The gameplay incorporates physics-based puzzle elements, requiring players to manipulate objects within the environment to clear paths. The developer has implemented a unique control system designed to balance the natural movement of physics simulation with player-assisted guidance, aiming for a satisfying rolling sensation.
This project evolves the mechanics from the developer's previous title, "Hekomu-su," which won the top prize at the 21st UE5 Puchi-Con. Interested players can currently add the game to their Steam wishlist. Additionally, playable demos are scheduled for DREAMSCAPE#5 on October 24, 2026, and Tokyo Game Dungeon 14 on October 31, 2026.
