Key information
Shueisha Games has launched a playable demo for the adventure title Hon to Kagi no Kisetsu on Steam. Developed by iMel, the game is currently scheduled for a release on PC and Switch this winter. The demo's availability coincides with the start of the Steam Next Fest.
Based on the novel by Honobu Yonezawa, the game follows two high school library committee members, Jiro Horikawa and Shimon Matsukura, as they investigate various mysteries. The production features full voice acting and colorful illustrations, aiming to blend the experience of reading text with watching a cinematic work.
The demo includes the entirety of Chapter 1, titled 913. In this segment, the protagonists are approached by a senior student, Mari Uragami, who requests their help in opening a locked safe left behind by her late grandfather. Players take on the role of Horikawa to solve puzzles using clues derived from the grandfather's words, offering an interactive experience even for those familiar with the original source material.
The voice cast for the project includes Kazuki Ura as Jiro Horikawa, Yuichiro Umehara as Shimon Matsukura, and Arisa Sakuraba as Mari Uragami.
