Key information
The Soulslike title Mortal Shell 2 has officially launched its second major seasonal update, titled Rotten Autumn. This expansive content drop is currently available for players to download.
The update introduces 15 new dungeons that incorporate platforming elements. Players can also discover 10 new tarstones, a sheep-specific item, and additional lute tracks, including an Impervious Lute skin. Technical additions include a photo mode, new lighting presets for night mode, and enhanced graphics settings.
Customization options have been expanded with new shell appearances, such as a metal pumpkin helmet. Furthermore, an alternative soundtrack composed by Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ is now available. The update also introduces a mysterious ghost character who provides cryptic notes to players.
Jeremy previously awarded the game a Bestest Bests badge, praising the dungeon design as a significant improvement over the original title. He noted that the levels feel like a high-quality collection reminiscent of classic collaborative work from John Carmack and John Romero.
