Cloud Imperium Games has provided new insights into the RSI Constellation Mk V following the RSI Discovery Month update. The developer released a video and a Q&A session to clarify the capabilities of this latest multi-purpose vessel.
The Mk V features significant armament for both pilots and gunners alongside substantial cargo capacity for freight or large vehicles. It includes a dedicated snub fighter named the Skylark, which CIG characterizes as being more durable than comparable craft. The Q&A confirms that the Mk V handles like a larger ship than previous Constellation models and restricts docking exclusively to the Skylark.
Regarding the older Mk IV series, the studio is implementing gold standard updates to improve component access and material quality. While these ships are being removed from the pledge store, they will remain obtainable through in-game methods.
Players can acquire the Mk IV ships in the future via classic ship dealers, blueprint mission rewards, or upcoming crafting systems. These changes aim to keep the older series relevant, addressing concerns similar to the previous retirement of the Aurora Mk I.
