Aspyr Media officially unveiled Shrek 2 Remastered during the October 2026 ID@Xbox showcase. This modern update of the 2004 Activision title is scheduled to arrive on Xbox Series X/S on November 10.
The remaster features upgraded graphics and new gameplay elements while retaining the core squad-based action-adventure mechanics. Players can control characters like Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey to solve puzzles and complete missions, mirroring the original game's four-player cooperative experience.
The announcement trailer notably parodies the marketing for Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 6. By adopting a Vice City aesthetic and mimicking iconic box art, the trailer acknowledges that the game is launching just nine days before the highly anticipated title, which arrives on November 19.
Despite the proximity to the Grand Theft Auto 6 release window, Aspyr Media has confirmed that the November 10 launch date remains unchanged. Pre-orders for the title are currently open for interested players.
