CD Projekt Red has officially announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a new update, version 2.5, scheduled for release on 22 October 2026. This update serves as a celebration for fans anticipating the premiere of the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which arrives on Netflix on 20 October 2026.
While official details remain pending, rumors regarding the update's content have surfaced online, allegedly originating from content creators who received early briefings. These unverified reports suggest the addition of new side quests titled “Clampdown” and “Welcome to Paradise,” alongside a “Double Trouble” perk for the Cool Skill Tree that enables dual-wielding pistols or revolvers.
The rumored update reportedly includes technical and quality-of-life improvements, such as mod support via mod.io for consoles, similar to The Witcher 3 Remastered. However, the source notes that using these mods will disable Trophies on the affected save files. Other alleged additions include console Field of View sliders, HDR fixes for PS5, and new customization options for hair, clothing, and cyberware.
CD Projekt Red is expected to provide official confirmation and details during a livestream on their YouTube channel, scheduled for 21 October 2026 at 21:45 WIB. Until this official broadcast, the developer has not confirmed the specific features included in the version 2.5 update.
