Jagex has officially launched a Plugin Hub for RuneScape, providing players with access to five initial community-created tools. These include Quest Helper, Menu Entry Swapper, Tilemarkers, Entity Hider, and Job Gauges, all accessible immediately to assist with navigation and customization across Gielinor.
The tools aim to streamline gameplay, such as Quest Helper which currently supports 69 specific quests. Players can access the hub via the toolbox icon in the in-game ribbon menu. To utilize these features, users must have a verified email address, and Jagex suggests using the email associated with a Jagex Account for easier verification through the mod.io platform.
While these plugins run directly within the game client, they are subject to strict official approval. They cannot automate actions or replace core gameplay. For instance, the Menu Entry Swapper is restricted from adding 'Buy All' shop options or changing default left-click item interactions. An 'API Council' currently manages feature requests to maintain development standards.
Jagex intends to expand the library by releasing new batches of plugins approximately every two weeks. These updates will coincide with regular game maintenance, with further customization options anticipated in the coming months.
