Gotcha Gotcha Games, a subsidiary of KADOKAWA, has released a P2D Map Editor demo for the upcoming software RPG Maker U2U. This release coincides with the Steam Next Fest event, allowing users to test new features before the full launch.
The P2D, or Perspective 2D, feature introduces a new way to construct maps with depth and height using intuitive controls. Within the demo, users can build maps, apply various visual effects, and preview character walking animations.
The demo is available for download until November 16, 2026. Data created during this period, including saved P2D maps, can be transferred to the final version of the software upon its release.
To celebrate, the developer is hosting a community project titled Everyone Make P2D Maps. Participants can share screenshots of their creations on the Steam community hub or X using the hashtag #P2Dマップ募集. The developer notes that submissions may be featured on official channels, provided they do not violate community guidelines.
