Gotcha Gotcha Games announced on October 20, 2026, that RPG Maker U2U is participating in the Steam Next Fest. As part of this event, a trial version featuring the P2D map editor is now available for a limited period ending on November 16.
The latest entry in the RPG Maker series introduces Perspective 2D, or P2D, technology. This feature enhances traditional two-dimensional maps by incorporating three-dimensional depth and various visual effects.
Users testing the demo can experiment with creating P2D maps, applying diverse effects, and previewing walking animations. The developer confirmed that created map data can be saved and transferred to the final retail version of the game.
Alongside the software trial, the company is hosting a community project titled Let's Make P2D Maps Together. This initiative runs concurrently with the demo availability from October 20 through November 16.
