Double Stallion Games, the independent studio previously known for developing the League of Legends spin-off Convergence: A League of Legends Story, has launched a new demo for its upcoming cooperative action RPG, Surfpunk. This release coincides with the latest Steam Next Fest and includes a fresh trailer showcasing the title.
Surfpunk is designed as a 1 to 4 player cooperative surf-and-slash action game. Set in a post-apocalyptic world submerged by a great flood, players take on the role of raiders. The gameplay involves exploring monster-infested islands to recover ancient energy sources, utilizing surfboards to navigate between these locations.
The newly released 1.4 demo version introduces several mechanical updates, including a revamped forging system and new cosmetic items. Combat allows players to wield various weapons such as swords, dual pistols, guitars, and anchors. Additionally, the developers have implemented a lobby code feature to simplify the process of joining games with friends.
The demo is currently available for players to experience on the Steam platform. While the studio has provided this playable version, they have not yet announced an official release date for the full game.
