Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially opened pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Midnight Black, a model specifically designed for the Japanese market. The console is scheduled for release on November 19, with a retail price set at 55,000 yen.
This variant is based on the existing Japanese-exclusive Digital Edition but features a distinct black color scheme. The hardware is restricted to domestic use within Japan, requiring users to set their console language to Japanese and their region to Japan on their PlayStation accounts.
Pre-orders for the console began on October 20 through various online retailers, including Amazon and Rakuten Books. The model is identified by the product code CFI-2200B02S.
In addition to the console, Sony is launching a matching Midnight Black disc drive, designated as model CFI-ZDD1J01. This accessory will also be available for purchase starting on the same November 19 release date.
