Sony Electronics has officially unveiled three new additions to its premium Walkman digital media player lineup: the NW-WM1ZM3, NW-WM1AM3, and NW-ZX900. These devices are engineered specifically for audiophiles and music enthusiasts, focusing on high-resolution sound reproduction and the use of high-end audio components to maintain the artist's original intent.
The flagship NW-WM1ZM3 features a gold-plated oxygen-free copper chassis and KIMBER KABLE wiring to minimize noise. Across the series, Sony has upgraded the power supply architecture by utilizing dual solid high-polymer capacitors. The NW-ZX900 and other models also incorporate advanced S-Master HX digital amplification, which now includes a look-ahead noise shaper to improve transient response and overall sound clarity.
All three models feature the DSD Remastering Engine, which now supports both downloaded content and Wi-Fi streaming. The NW-WM1ZM3 and NW-WM1AM3 offer up to 35 hours of MP3 playback, while the NW-ZX900 extends this to 40 hours. Additionally, the devices include larger, responsive touchscreens and plastic-free packaging to reduce environmental impact.
Pre-orders are currently open through various retailers. The NW-WM1ZM3 is priced at $5,899 USD, the NW-WM1AM3 at $2,999.99 USD, and the NW-ZX900 at $1,899.99 USD. Canadian pricing is set at $8,259.99, $4,199.99, and $2,659.99 respectively.
