Publisher SNEG, in partnership with Wizards of the Coast, has announced the digital re-release of the 2001 CRPG Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. The title is scheduled to launch on Steam and GOG.com on November 6th.
The game features turn-based tactical combat set in the Forgotten Realms, where players lead a party of up to six heroes to investigate a mysterious evil. Users can choose between a traditional turn-based style or a timed-turn mode for faster gameplay.
This updated version includes modern enhancements such as 4K widescreen support, upscaled assets, controller compatibility, and a reworked camera. The UI has been improved with a new action bar and tooltips, while adjustable animation speeds allow for customized combat pacing.
SNEG Director Artem Shchuiko stated that the goal is to preserve the original experience while fixing technical issues to improve accessibility. Players can also utilize an optional Legacy mode to maintain the classic visuals and gameplay, alongside new features like Steam Achievements and Cloud Saves.
