The Pokémon TCG Pocket Operations Team has announced significant updates to address player feedback regarding the game's current content cadence. Starting with the upcoming C series of card releases, the development team will shift to a six-week release cycle, moving away from the previous monthly schedule to alleviate pressure on players.
Beyond the calendar changes, the game will introduce new ways to acquire cards, including immersive animated cards earned through missions and collections. Players can also look forward to Special Packs, which utilize stamina that replenishes weekly, starting with the First Partners set featuring regional starters.
Deck-building and competitive play are receiving enhancements as well. A new Community Decks feature will allow users to browse and copy other players' decks, while rental and starter decks will gain unlimited uses in versus play. Additionally, Limited Battles will introduce restricted card pool events that reward participants with accessories.
These updates arrive as DeNa seeks to stabilize the game's performance following a reported 41% drop in monthly active users between April and June 2026. While the team plans to improve trading visibility, players continue to express concerns regarding the application's overall UI responsiveness and speed.
