معلومات أساسية
While Superman is often viewed as the pinnacle of power in DC Comics, the universe contains entities that surpass him, most notably The Presence. First appearing in 1940's More Fun Comics nº 52, this entity serves as the ultimate creator, drawing inspiration from biblical and religious traditions to establish the DC multiverse.
The Presence is not a fixed character but an abstract concept with multiple manifestations. It has been identified by various names, including Yahweh, The Source, and The Hands. Its influence is often exerted through The Spectre, who acts as the personification of divine vengeance, initially receiving instructions from The Presence as a disembodied voice.
Physical appearances of this entity are rare, totaling only 90 issues over 80 years according to Comic Vine. In Lucifer nº 68 (2005), it manifested as an elderly British man in a suit and bowler hat. During this encounter with its granddaughter Elaine, it discussed the power to erase reality before ultimately transferring its creations to her.
The nature of The Presence remains inconsistent due to frequent DC universe reboots and varying author interpretations. Conflicting lore, such as the role of Perpetua or the mysterious character Wally, highlights that The Presence functions more as a fluid, contradictory concept rather than a central figure in individual comic narratives.
