Key information

Developer One Bit Horror officially announced its upcoming PC horror game, Please Remain Dead, on October 21, 2026. The studio has launched a Steam store page for the title, which centers on the player's attempt to escape confinement while pretending to be a corpse.

The core gameplay requires players to suppress physical reactions to avoid detection by an examiner who believes the protagonist is dead. Players must hold their breath when a device is placed on their chest, let their arms hang limp if lifted, and fix their gaze when a light is shone in their eyes. Failing to maintain this facade alerts the examiner, who remembers previous suspicious behavior and may respond by tightening restraints or using tools.

While restrained, the player retains limited movement in one hand, allowing for brief opportunities to attempt an escape while the examiner is distracted. Additionally, players must manually suppress a mysterious entity moving within their own body to prevent the examiner from noticing the internal disturbance.

Please Remain Dead currently lacks a confirmed release date and does not support the Japanese language. Interested players can look forward to a free demo, as indicated in the game's teaser trailer.
